A professional services firm wanted to develop “rain-makers” within the ranks. Most people are not born with business development skills; they learn them. Getting a group of introverted professionals to network, was a challenge—lots of laughter and joking during the session and for weeks afterwards—but “it took.” Not every became a “rain-maker,” but everyone in the firm did learn some new skills and some tried their wings in community business meetings.
